Literacy Consolidation is only selected upon recommendation by the School.
This unit is designed for students who have specific literacy needs. Each unit provides techniques or strategies for students to become more effective writers, speakers, listeners, readers, viewers and thinkers. Material is drawn from a wide range of literature, everyday texts and film. There is emphasis on developing the mechanics of written language: paragraphs, punctuation, sentence structure, spelling and vocabulary. Students are encouraged to develop the expression of ideas in both their written and spoken language.
The assessment is structured to meet the needs of the individual student's literacy skills focussing on the development of foundation literacy and communication skills.
