Theatre: Stagecraft and Performance
This unit builds on Year 8 Theatre, however, it is not required that students have completed Year 8 Theatre in order to select this unit.
Students have the opportunity to learn about the physical elements of a performance and how these elements can be used to enhance storytelling, and communicate meaning for both the actor and the audience. Students explore the world of theatre design and experiment with stagecraft in creative and imaginative ways.
Students develop language that enables them to critically discuss theatrical ideas. They creatively develop and perform short scenes to demonstrate their understanding.
Please note: Students are required to choose at least one Elective unit from Drama or Music in either Year 8 or Year 9.
