Course Description
This unit is designed to offer a global perspective on health. Students explore the dimensions of health and wellbeing and how these vary across population groups within Australia and beyond. Students will consider the health status variations that exist around the world and investigate the many determinants that influence these community groups. Students will also investigate a variety of global health issues and the community projects that target improvements in the health and wellbeing of people around the world. This elective extends students knowledge from Year 8 Health where students research Australian Health Issues as well as complement the Year 9 C-Change program and its focus on global health issues. This elective alsohelps to prepare students for studying VCE Units 1-4 Health and Human Development.
