Year 3 Outdoor Education
Course Description
Year 3 students will attend their first overnight Outdoor Education experience to Camp Allambee near Yarragon. The nearby Mt Worth State Park offers the opportunities for students to engage with the world as well as develop an understanding of Australia’s cultural landscape; both Indigenous and non Indigenous. Students will be exposed to an array of camp led activities such as archery, damper making, initiative activities as well as some more adventurous options such as the flying fox or giant swing.
Spending a night away from home will allow students the opportunity to gain independence and self management skills. Participating in communal activities with their peers allows for the development of relationships which can be furthered at school. Outdoor Education provides an excellent platform from which students can explore the Carey values of Care, Respect and Growth.
