Year Level Objectives
By the end of the year students are expected to:
- explain the significance of Easter and Christmas and the Christian messages gained from these religious events;
- describe the potential impact that various creation stories could have upon the world view and actions of people who owned those stories;
- begin to compare other religions in terms of beliefs and rituals;
- reflect on and evaluate their world view and spirituality in light of life-changing events;
- examine issues from a variety of perspectives and explore related values;
- examine the wisdom and teaching contained within the Bible and identify the lessons relevant for life today;
- begin to form an understanding that we are each formed in God’s image and therefore have value and a responsibility to treat others with respect and justice
- identify Jesus’ views on justice and leadership and ways we can show leadership to improve justice for all humankind.
