VCE Acceleration at Year 10
Description
In combination the elements of our Year 10 program support students’ holistic development and it is important students are involved in the whole program.
One aspect of students’ development is preparation for studying the International Baccalaureate or the Victorian Certificate of Education in Year 11 and 12. For students who choose the VCE, depending on their Year 10 results, this might include study of one of a number of subjects at Year 12 level when they are in Year 11.
There may be a few Year 10 students who are invited to consider studying a Year 11 level VCE subject in Year 10.
These would be students who are currently studying a Year 10 level subject (for example a Language) and who are performing at a high level in all subjects, or students identified by our Head of Talent and Learning Development.
Studying a Year 11 subject in Year 10 means students are not able to participate in all elements of the core Year 10 experience, may miss a Year 11 class once per fortnight and will miss a three week block of Year 11 classes during the year.
