Learning Development

Learning and Talent Development

Carey recognises that every child is unique, and we provide intentional support for those who show significant individual need.

The Carey Learning and Talent Development team strive to advocate for inclusive learning practices to all learning programs and to acknowledge and build on the personal strengths of the students involved.

About Learning Development

The Learning Development teachers and Educational Support Coaches work with students and other teachers to try to assist to personalise learning to target support needs.

Learning Development staff work with identified students with specific learning needs, including students needing literacy, numeracy, and organizational needs.

Identified students may also be involved in language development programs and support classes designed to teach foundation skills and strategies which can be applied across the curriculum areas.

Learning Development teachers can assess students to determine the level of support required beyond the classroom. They also collaborate with career practitioners giving information to support career pathway planning.
