Common Unit
Unit Description
All students in Year 7 study Drama for one semester, as part of their core program. This allows all students to explore and experiment with dramatic activity in a specialised, safe and supportive learning environment. Students participate in practical activities to develop their confidence and performance skills. They work with a partner to develop, memorise and present a short script excerpt to the class. They work in a group to create an original performance which is presented to children from Carey’s ELC and Junior School.
Students are required to:
- develop an interpretation of a text and present a performance
- devise a Children's Theatre Performance
Students also have the opportunity to participate in a practical workshop presented by a theatre industry professional.
