Elective Unit
Unit Description
Students with a passion for, or aptitude in, physical activity may choose to select this Elective Unit. The unit is one semester long and focusses on the development of physical skill and prowess across nonmainstream sports with a specific coaching focus.
This exciting course aims to:
- increase the opportunity for motivated students to be involved in physical activity and recreational activities, different to what is provided in the core Physical Education curriculum
- explore theories and concepts incorporated in the practical component of physical education
- increase personal fitness and skill competencies in a range of nonmainstream activities
- nurture and extend personal competitive skills
- develop effective interpersonal qualities, including, leadership, group management and teamwork skills
- broaden student understanding and confidence across a wider variety of fitness, sport and recreation activities
A number of sport and recreational activities are undertaken each term including:
- Archery
- Golf
- Table Tennis
- Lawn Bowls
- Disc Golf
- F45
- Ten Pin Bowling
- Fencing
- Bubble Soccer
- Peer Teaching
Assessment
- Develop and implement a successful peer coaching session
The assessment of each unit is based on the following measures:
