Elective Unit

Unit Description

This Computing elective offers a variety of Digital Technology options for students with a wide range of interests and skills. The program has a strong focus on self-directed learning as students are supported as they progress at their own pace whilst developing their independent learning skills.

For students new to computing, this course will provide an introduction to basic Digital Technologies such as Python coding fundamentals and an introduction to web development. For students with prior knowledge and more advanced skills, this course would provide meaningful challenges which would extend and enrich both their technical capacities and their ability to apply computational and design thinking to solve real world problems.

Assessment focusses on growth and progress, application of the Carey Learner Attributes in addition to skill achievement.

Students will be able to choose this elective for only one of the semesters.
