Elective Unit
Unit Description
In Year 9 Drama students develop their performance skills through a unit which focuses on acting to camera. They learn about the approaches that actors use to develop effective onscreen performances. Students work with scripts to rehearse, film and edit a performance. They build on their understanding of dramatic elements to shape and develop their performance work. The semester culminates in the development of an original filmed performance.
Students in Year 9 have the opportunity to see a major professional production. In recent years, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Moulin Rouge!
Please note: Students are required to choose at least one Elective unit from Drama or Music in either Year 8 or Year 9.
