Course Description
Students in Year 10 Drama complete VCE Drama Unit 1 and VCE Theatre Studies Unit 2.
Unit 1 Drama focuses on creating, presenting and analysing a devised solo and/or ensemble performance that includes real and/or imagined characters and is based on stimulus material that reflects personal, cultural and/or community experiences and stories. This unit also involves analysis of a student’s own devised work, and the analysis of work by professional drama practitioners and performers.

In Unit 2 Theatre Studies, students study contemporary theatre practice through the exploration of scripts from 1945 to the present day. They select scripts from either two distinct theatre styles or a theatre movement between 1945 and the present day.
Students focus on the application of acting, direction and design in relation to contemporary theatre practices as they work in production roles to interpret scripts
