Unit Description
In this unit students develop knowledge of presentations such as computer illustrations, isometric and observational drawing and orthogonal drawings.
Students are introduced to the use of a range of instrumental drawing methods and conventions that are used in the fields of industrial design and graphic design. They have the opportunity to creatively explore these techniques and develop problem-solving skills against the context of a range of design briefs. The fundamentals of design such as design thinking, freehand drawing, technical drawing, rendering and computer design are all explored.
This subject covers skills and knowledge which have direct connections with VCE Visual Communication Design and the professional fields of architecture, interior design, industrial design and graphic design.
